Leonhard, Just to clarify, for your own peace of mind, Avast Free Antivirus & AVG Free AntiVirus are completely different products. This Support Community deals with AVG Free AntiVirus. This is the Avast Free Antivirus forum (https://forum.avast.com/). Avast actually acquired AVG (https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000LSo8AAG).

Hi all,
when I update my Free Antivirus to Version 17.3.2291 my PC is no longer usable. There are error messages like "Anwendungsfehler Outlook.exe konnte nicht gestartet werden". Programs cannot be startet. To shut down the system it needs a very long time, about 10 or 15 minutes.
This fatal error occurs only on my system with Windows 7 Prof. 64 Bit and only when I activate the modul "Behaviour Protection" (Verhaltens-Schutz). With my Win 7 Premium Home Edition (32 Bit), which runs in a Virtual Box, there is no such error.
After a new installation of Antivirus there were the same error again.
Can anyone help please?

First: Thank you all very much for your answers.
To send a screenshot of an error message (there are several different, all saying, that a program is not available) I would have to update Avast Free Antivirus to the error condition described in my first posting. Otherwise I have no error conditions. I have restored a complete image of my system just now. Because I don't know what the error condition does in my system, I want to avoid that. Restore is a lot of work (to install programs since last backup) and time consuming. But is it really necessary to see such an error message I described? I think, the most important is, that in error condition my 64 bit system doesn't react to any commands, only if behaviour protection is enabled.
By the way, Alan, I got the adress of this forum from support@help.avg.com. If I have to go to another forum, please give me the adress.
I hope you can help me to update the program of Avast Free Antivirus in the future without sending you a screenshot of an error message. Thank you very much.

Leonhard, For your info, just in case that you are unaware, you can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions. By the way this is the AVG Support Community. Avast Free AntiVirus is a different product & has it's own support forum.
