Hello Kim-morten,
I regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. Please check if you see two 'AVG Protection' entries on the installed programs list in control panel. If so, it could be possible the older version did not get uninstalled during the upgrade to new version. Please run AVG Remover tool as suggested in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG to remove the older version completely and check if you still experience the issues.
Hello, Im having the same issue described above in a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise.
Randomly the AVG Firewall does not allow some users (phones, ipads, notebooks) to get an IP Address from the DHCP Server.
I already checked and i dont have any other installed instance of the avg.
If i turn off the avg firewall the problems are solved.
NEED HELP ASAP
Nick
After AVG updated itself to newest version it has been causing problems, dchp, freezes and hangs.
- Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server)
- Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server)
While browsing or on the web this can happen after 30mins, 5mins or, completely random, after I lose my connection the sytem starts too hang and freeze, can't open any programs - nothing happens, I can browse my pc and open folders and pictures, but no videos as the program will not start, can't close any programs either, can not even turn off or restart the pc - only by doing a hard reset.
However, if I am playing a game while this happens, I can keep playing just fine and change songs on the music program, but if I close them - can't restart them again.
If my pc stays idle for hours it will not happen, as soon as I start browsing here or in-game, it will happen randomly.
Having AVG disabled avoids this.
What exactly is happening with AVG, or what has changed in this update, is it made exclusively for win 10 or something, compatibility issues, since it's so messed up?
Never had this problem before.
