AVG 2014 failed to install

So I tried installing AVG Free 2014 after getting the repeated message to reboot after update install. I removed AVG 2014 and 2012 completely with the removal tool from AVG and tried to install it again. It failed miserably. I get the error saying 0xC0070643 Installation failed. After a bit of googling I found that it might have to do with the windows installer, so I cleaned up .Net frameworks 1.1 - 4.0 and reinstalled all of them. Still to no avail and I am out of options now. Please help

Ok so I clicked the Search online for suggestions button, nothing. I get redirected to the general support page. I tried the following steps and downloaded the removal tool, but after a while the command prompt gets stuck and stops responding, thus not completing the removal.

Hi Pascal,
In order to analyze it please provide us with diagnostic output using this tool (http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe) and please add detailed description of issue.
