AVG 2014 Install does not work on Sony VAIO Laptop with Windows 7 Premium 64-bit

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately installing Redistributables often fails so we created automatic fix (It split installation of AVG and Redistributables) for that purpose.
I am happy to see that your issue is resolved.
Thanks for posting back.

Hi, Zbynek, thanks for the link.  I downloaded it and it installed OK on the Sony VAIO laptop under Windows 7 Home Premium.  AVG 2014.0.4744 is now running.

I see that the AVG_MSVCR_Pro_en.exe program has installed "Visual Studio 2008 x64 Redistributables", "Visual Studio 2012 x64 Redistributables" and "Visual Studio 2012 x86 Redistributables 14.0.0.1".
Would you care to comment on what you did in AVG_MSVCR_Pro_en.exe versus what is in the full download avg_ipw_x64_all_2014_4744a7830.exe that did not work on the VAIO?

By the way, I just purchased licenses for AVG 2014 for 6 PC's.  So far, have installed it on two - an XP machine , no problems and the Sony VAIO that you just helped me with.  I have four more PC's, running Win XP and Win 7, to put AVG 2014 on.

On the Sony VAIO, I'll now use AVG 2104 to scan the computer and will post again.

Thanks for the response, Alan.  I started the AVG Sys Info Tool, then went to bed.  When I woke up 8 hours later, the Tool was still running.
I stopped it, rebooted the VAIO PC and ran the AVG Sys Info Tool again.
I see the process AVG_SysInfo.exe 32 is running
I saw a short burst of activity from a process TrustedInstaller.exe.
Next I believe I saw process filever.exe run for a few minutes
Now I see process find.exe *32 running.        A Grep Utility

Just for comparison, I ran the AVG Sys Info Tool on another PC with Windows XP.  It completed in a few minutes and produced a log file with the extension .7z

Is it normal for the AVG Sys Info Tool to take hours to run in a Windows 7 PC?  Should I leave it running this time?  Or does this help tell you what might be wrong with my Sony VAIO?

Steve

Steve, In order to analyze it please provide AVG with diagnostic output using this tool (http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe).

AVG 2014 Internet Security successfully installed on a desktop PC running Windows XP.
On a Sony VAIO laptop, the install gives a "Setup error":
Error code: 0xC007064C
Error message: The installation source for this product is not available.  Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
Additional message: Installing 3rd party redistributables failed.
Context: Installing 3rd party redistributables

I have tried everything mentioned on the AVG web site:  the AVG Reset Access Tool, uninstalling the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package, reinstalling the latter.
I have run Malware scans and done all the other obvious things.
I can see the installer files in C:\ProgramData\MFAData\pack.

Any suggestions, please?
