AVG 2015 eats too much memory!

I too am having problems with the amount of memory being taken up by the various AVG programs. With my PC entirely quiet i.e. with no applications schedule by myself, including Outlook, AVG requies 189.8 megabytes of memory. SInce acquiring PC Tuneup this year my system performance has deteriorated to the point where it takes over 5 minutes to reboot and I often have to wait 30 seconds or more for an instruction to perform - this could be a page load or a file save or simply to start a process. Is there any point in bothing with the sysinfo tool as I see that you never closed Jonathan's issue from December?

Hello Catalina.
I am sorry to hear that. I kindly request you to repair your AVG Internet security program and check whether the issue persists. Please have a look at this article http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY to repair your AVG program. Please feel free to contact us back for further assistance. Thank you.

I've had the same problem, and have just run the sysinfo tool and submitted the results. As for Christine Doe avgemca.exe is using too much memory: more than 160 MB even when no email was being processed. After closing my email client (Outlook) memory usage slowly fell to about 60 MB after 30 minutes  –  still way too high. Why is the process active at all once the email client has closed? Surely it should turn off when the client does, and reactivate only when the client is opened again. Casually using up so much memory needlessly (especially on a machine like mine that only has 3GB RAM) is pretty insulting to AVG's users.

I did a Repair as you suggested. Unfortunately no positive results. Here are the figures.

avgemca.exe = 64348 K
avgfws.exe = 6656 K
avgidsagent.exe = 21032 K
avgnsa.exe = 8484 K
avgrsa.exe = 10268 K
avgcsrva.exe = 11516 K
avgui.exe = 3080 K
avgwdsvc.exe = 11724 K

It is not normal AVG E-mail Scanner to eat 63 MB of RAM. OK. I used the tool to remove completely AVG from my computer. I reinstall it and same results. I install AVG in a Virtual Machine same figures.

Why AVG is so hungry in eating memory?

AVG 2015 Internet Security eats too much memory! The most hungry version of AVG.

avgemca.exe = 190976 K
avgfws.exe = 6736 K
avgidsagent.exe = 20528 K
avgnsa.exe10908 K
avgrsa.exe = 9848 K
avgcsrva.exe = 16924 K
avgui.exe = 3036 K
avgwdsvc.exe = 11196 K

In total 270 MB eats AVG IS 2015. Sometimes these services reach in total 350 MB. For a 4G laptop it is more than 10% just having an antivirus. Why these figures? Look there AVG E-mail Scanner is taking 190 M of RAM! It is too much.

With every version of AVG I need more and more memory. This is the main reason I skipped IS 2013 for other version just getting less than 250 MB of RAM allocation. Now it is taking more and more. Optimize your memory allocation once and for all!
