If i separate those exe files into folders and enter these folders one by one, it takes around 5-10 seconds to scan every file. It seems that when all files are in the same folder AVG tries to scan them all at once (in multiple threads?), but the harddisk can't handle so many reads and so it almost stalls.

I have a few folders which contain about 15-20 big exe files (installers). I open them fairly often and i had no problems with AVG 2014. I have updated to 2015 about a week ago and now if i go to these folders the icons of those files are not updated and my HDD starts to let scratching sounds (like reading a lot of small files or when you close some memory heavy program and it starts to unload stuff to disk). But this sound never stops and it is in a very high pitch, i waited like 5 minutes and it was still letting this noise and icons were still not updated, so i had to shutdown. Tried again - same result. Rebooted, disabled the AVG, went to that folder - all is fine. I know that usuaully resident takes some time to scan exe files when opening a folder, but this is just insane and wasn't like that with 2014 version. If i won't find a solution, i would have to switch to another antivirus solution.
