AVG 2017 report files

AVG 2017 is really a problem.  I did all of the above last month and have my scans running at 7pm local time every Sunday.  Even verified it ran last week and could see the report the way you recommended.  Today the scan never executed.  And the folder C:\Program Data\AVG\Reports\ is gone.   There is C:\Program Data\AVG\ but no report folder.

What is going on with this product?

Hi Steve,
We understand your concern regarding the Scan Reports. The various scans will run in background and the scan reports will be available in Scan settings. The AVG Internet Security interface will only shows the scan report of the manual scan and will disappear once the scan is completed.

Please use the following instructions to generate reports of the scans : Open AVG Zen > Internet Security > Click on Settings near Scan now > Select the small Gear beside the scan type > Report file > Generate file to check the scan reports.

You can find the reports in C:\Program Data\AVG\Reports<br>
Please, feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance.
Thank you.

This reply does nothing to answer the questions
1 Whilst "Scheduled Scans" do run, they seldom run at the times programmed.
2 Many times they fail to run on a Sunday
3 The most important & the foundation of the question, there is no log to establish if/when the scans have run.
Would you please clarify the total situation
Thanks

Hello John,
C:\Programdata folder is usually hidden. Please follow the steps in this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files to show hidden files and folders.

I never understand why companies remove good features, like a menu with a report option???

That said, with your info, I enabled the manual reports.  And figured out that the automatic scans are not executing.   I have a scan scheduled every Sunday at 1900 hrs.  It never runs.  I have to manually scan.

Lets fix that first.  Why does the scheduled scan not run?

In prior versions of AVG Internet Security 2017, there was a drop down menu for Reports to see summary results of past scans.  I cannot find such a thing in AVG 2017 and wish to view the automated scheduled reports that run when the W10 PC is unattended.

Where do I find these?

Steve,

We regret the inconvenience, is your AVG program is up to date? It is necessary to turn on your PC at the time of scheduling. We request you to repair avgclick.me/RepairAVG AVG Protection, restart, schedule a scan and check with the issue.

The daily Scheduled scan has just completed.
I am aware it's been carried out because the "dot" has appeared next to the gear wheel symbol.
I have set the scan up to give reports even if there are no problems reported.
I have, 2 days ago run the repair process, the current AVG version is 17.4.3014
RESULTS
1 Looking under the path stated C/Prorame Data/AVG/Antivirus, there are NO REPORTS
2 I have looked within the Scanning "Reports Setting area" & there are NO reports generated.
I & others believe you have a problem & should test this out inhouse on a urgent basis.
Hope this helps you.

Please note I have put in another post on this issue but for some reason it has disappeared!
After my last Scheduled Scan I looked on the path C/Program Files/AVG/Antivirus & within the listing there was not a "Reports"
This was after I had done a repair.
Could I suggest that AVG have a problem.
Why don't AVG engineers do a test on a trial M/c & see if a report is generated & advise us?

Hello Steve,

Thanks for trying those steps. Please check if your AVG program is up to date and check later if the schedule scan works fine.

Please be informed that, if your PC is in sleep mode or switched off while running the schedule scan, then you can't generate the scan report nor the scan will be initiated. Please make sure your computer is not into sleep mode during the scheduled time and check today if this scan works fine. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.
Thank you

I just did a REPAIR and RESET all my settings 3 weeks ago.
Now you tell me to do it again?

And then the Scheduled Scan does not run until Sunday night, so I wait for 7 more days?

Instead of me having to do this every 3 weeks, can AVG fix their product please?
John Clark also post here he has same issue so it is a bug in AVG.

Please let me know the version of AVG installed in your computer. If possible, please send us the screenshot(http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of the AVG program installed in your computer.

Thank you for the information.
After performing repair process, please check on the same scan settings whether the report file option is saved. If not, do create the report file again.
Please make sure that you do it for schedule scan settings too. Once that is done, please get into C:\drive–>Program Data folder and then AVG folder, check whether report file is present.
If the issue with schedule scan still persists, do let us know. We will collect log files and escalate the case to senior technical team.
