Hello Alok,
Thank you for your reply regarding scheduled scans. I had already carried out all the procedures that you recommended and since receiving your reply have gone back and checked them all and everything is as it should be.
When I open AVG and click on the settings button next to Scan Computer my schedule scans appear with the times they are set to run but still they do not run!
Your further advice would be appreciated.
Apart from these problems I am experiencing, I find this upgrade is definitely not as easy to use as the older version.
Regards, Joan
Hello Joan,
I'm sorry to hear about that you're experiencing issues with AVG 2017 schedules scan, you can check the AVG 2017 schedules scan preferences (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-start-or-plan-a-computer-scan). If you wish, you can send us a product feedback (http://www.avg.com/us-en/product-feedback), it will reach to our concern team and they will look into it.
Best regards,
Alok.
You are most welcome, Joan.
Please be informed that the AVG schedule scan on 2017 version will not run if the PC is put to sleep mode or if it is turned off.
If the PC is in sleep mode at the time of schedule scan then that instance of scan will be aborted, it will only start at next instance of scheduled time.
I request you to repair of AVG Antivirus 2017 once as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and setup schedule scan.
Please make sure that the PC is not put to sleep or turned off at the time of scheduled scan.
If it still doesn't start, do let us know.
Before this latest update scheduled scans would start even if the system was sleeping. The scan would simply "wake up" my computer to run the scan. Also if my computer was turned off at the time of the scheduled scan the scan would automatically start as soon as I turned on my computer again even if the time of the scheduled scan had passed. Why would anyone at AVG think it was a good move to change this.
My scheduled scans are set to run at a time when it is likely that I won't be using my computer for anything else so the chances that the computer will be sleeping are very high.
As I've said before, this update is a real step backward as far as ease of use is concerned. It seems that all the previously easy to use and convenient features have now been swept away for the sake of change!!
Yes, Joan. In the previous version of AVG, we had this option to run scheduled scan automatically when the computer restarts or the scheduled time is missed. This feature is currently not available in the latest version. You can send your product feedback from this link http://www.avg.com/us-en/product-feedback and the concerned team will check all your feedback and make sure to bring this feature in future AVG updates.
Hello Joan,
I am sorry to hear that the issue persists. I have send you an email with the steps to get connected to the remote support. Please follow the same and the remote team will fix this issue for you.
I am running Windows 10 and have received the AVG 2017 Update. I have scheduled various scans but these do not run as per the schedules. I have requested reports for each scan but this option also does not seem to be working. Also I can find no option to run the scans when my computer is sleeping [even though this option is shown in the Help section on how to schedule scans]
This update seems a backward step as far as I am concerned!

I have checked the settings for my computer and it is set never to sleep. The only thing that sleeps after 15 mins is the screen. I have also carried out the repair you suggested, although I had already done this after the initial update as things were not working properly. This second repair has not worked either as the time has now passed for one of my scheduled scans and, again, nothing has happened. This time I sat and watched my computer and ensured that not even the screen has been to sleep. Something is definitely going wrong here!! This is a problem caused by this latest update and I am expecting AVG to finally sort this out for me.
