Avg active protection

Hi Alok,
i ended up restoring back windows from 22/6 prior to when i installed avg and everything is working fine. Now i am a bit worried about reinstalling it, the error was 'DPC watchdog violation' and just kept restarting windows. if you could give me advice prior to me reinstalling avg it would be much appreciated. Also, to identify the root cause for this issue, we are in need to analyze the AVG log files and the DUMPs.
Inorder to collect AVG log files, it is necessary to install the AVG program again.

It likely cause is an outdated driver for one of your hardware components. For example, if your sound card driver does not support Windows, simply plugging in a set of headphones could produce a DPC Watchdog Violation error. While not as common, software installations that affect your system software could also lead to DPC Watchdog Violations and the corresponding blue screen of death. Yes, you can receive full refund for your AVG Ultimate purchase. However, I have escalated this case to our senior team. We will let you know once we receive a reply.

i just reinstalled Avg again and that same error is occurring  (DPC watchdog violation). Is there a way that i can get a refund? I know you're saying that they are separate matters but it's awfully coincidental that the laptop runs fine until i install avg. this laptop came with windows 10 when i purchased it 2 yrs ago. I dont know any other solution? Im again running a system restore back to prior to installing avg the first time. Any help would be appreciated, i want avg to work be because it's a good quality virus protection when it works. Thanks

What happen to your computer is really unfortunate. However, please send us a screenshot (please take a picture of your computer from your mobile which shows the error "your pc ran into problems and needs a restart") to assist you better.

Thank you for your response, my laptop has been working without an issue now for over 1 day, i do not want to install avg and have it error again. When the error occurs you cannot log in, the laptop gets stuck in a turn on then within 10sec reboot loop, you cannot access anything and just have ti keep restarting until the system restore option appears. So i am going to fill out a form for a refund and be done with it. I will try avg again in the future when i get a different laptop one day. Thanks Mel

I'm glad to hear that you have fix this issue. You may encounter a black screen showing a message regarding an AVG Watchdog Initialization error when starting devices running Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393). This issue is caused by outdated mouse and keyboard drivers and is unconnected with AVG Software (The issue was not because of AVG Ultimate). Hi all,

I only recently purchased AVG and installed it yesterday. Today i turned my computer on and AVG said that it's in passive mode and do i want to allow active mode. I said yes and it did a restart and now my computer wont load windows. I keep trying to log on and get the message "your pc ran into problems and needs a restart…" i cannot login. It looked legit what i clicked as it appeared as soon as a logged in, prior to accessing anything on my computer. :pensive: please any advice is appreciated. Thanks
