Hello Alan,
Thank you for your valuable efforts which you are taken to fix it. Since you have mentioned that MS outlook 2010 is not accessed while AVG is enabled. We would request you to provide a screenshot of your error message which related to MS Outlook 2010 along with AVG Add in as a separate screenshot to assist further. Please click on the following link http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot to send the screen shot.Thank you.
I have latest AVG Free & Win 10.
AVG Add-in works ok in MS Outlook 2010 for a while but periodically Outlook crashes on opening. It can be fixed by either disabling the AVG add-in or by repairing the MS Office installation. After that it works OK for a while (days or weeks) but eventually the crash occurs again. Is there a permanent solution for this without disabling the AVG add-in?
Thanks
HI Rajarajan,
I have carried out the AVG remove and reinstall following your instructions. Unfortunately as soon as Outlook2010 is opened it crashed with the same message. I have disabled the AVG add-in again so that Outlook can work. Note that the new install still installed the "AVGoutlookx.dll" add-in.
Any other ideas?
Regards Alan

If this doens't help then please delete the addin from Outlook and completely reinstall AVG Antivirus using the AVG remover tool.
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link: http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3) Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
NOTE: Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C: drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.

AVG Guru
Hi Balasubramanian,
Thank you for the suggestions.
I have tried your first to remove "AVGoutlookx.dll" and add "AVGoutlooka.dll". After a lot of trying I managed to remove "x" but when I tried to add "a" Outlook said that it was not a valid add-in. I then tried to add back "x" and received the same message. So no AVG add-ins are now installed but my Outlook is working albeit without virus checking emails. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on this?
In the meantime when I have some more time I will try to uninstall AVG and reinstall it as you suggested. Thanks again for your help. Regards Alan

Hello Alan,
You are welcome.
Yes, if you add Outlook as a exception to AVG then it wouldn't scan for the emails.
We request you to open the Outlook and at the top click on the arrow mark which will list out many options from there select "More commands" You will get another window opened from which search for AVG addin and then click on GO.
Delete AVG addin from the list and then repeat the process to select More commands, once you get the window opened click on GO and you will get a browse window opened up. From there you have to browser to folder where AVG is installed. Please check for "AVGoutlooka.dll" file name. If you find it please select and add to the addin and check whether Outlook works fine.
