I am using AVG Business and we are licenced for 25 clients. I am using the AVG Admin Console to monitor the servers and work stations. I am experiencing a problem with remote work stations (laptops) used by people working at home. When they are at home I am setting their AVG client Menu->Settings->Remote Admin->Server to <subdomain>.<domain.com> (where <domain.com> is our main domain and <subdomain> is a specific sub domain I have created to resolve to our office's static IP address) which works fine connecting to the console until they connect via a VPN to the office or bring their work station into the office and plug it directly into our office network when the Server is changed automatically to AP-072, which is the name of the work station running the AVG Admin Console. This again works fine until they return home at which point the Client/Server connection no longer works because AP-072 won't resolve until they connect via VPN or return to the office. Presumably I could add AP-072 as an entry in the hosts file resolving to the public static IP of the office but I'd rather avoid this potentially messy overhead and get the Server resolution to remain at <subdomain>.<domain.com>. Has anyone else experienced this issue and have a solution?
