AVG ads to purchase products

We apologize for the inconvenience.
As you are having the free version, the ads cannot be stopped. However, we do have an option to reduce the frequency of the pop-up, you can change the frequency of the pop-up by following the steps in this link http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-Change-the-Frequency-of-Pop-Up-Notifications

Thank you for responding, however I can't seem to OPEN the AVG Application.  When I click on the icon all I get is a reminder that the pro trial has expired (buy now).   There is no place to select options and advanced settings.  This is very frustrating.

I have downloaded the "Basic" free AVG anti-virus.  I am quite happy with the product.  How do I stop the continuous onslot of AVG ads to buy their other products?

We are sorry to know that.
It seems that instead of free version, you have trial version of AVG installed. We suggest you to completely remove and reinstall AVG Free to fix this issue. Please click on this to download and run the AVG Remover tool http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
Note: Once the removal of AVG is complete, go to C Drive and delete the AVG remover folder. After which you can install AVG free http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-antivirus-free
