In August, I kept getting a notice that my AVG license could not be recognized and that I needed to re-input the number. After several attempts at this, with no success, I contacted customer service. I was given verbal directions about removing my older version of AVG and replacing it with the new version. This, too, was unsuccessful. I was then given a link by which to accomplish this same task. This resulted in AVG blocking my access to the internet. At that time, the customer service representative wrote to me and told me that I should call a phone number in the UK because they would have to remotely take over my computer in order to address the issue. At no time did he tell me that this was not a toll free number. I dialed the number and was transferred from the UK to someone in India who then passed me along to the team that remotely accesses computers. This took quite a while, however, in the end, did work. I was satisfied until I got my phone bill the other day and saw that I had been charged $85.88 for this call. I contacted customer service again and, after spending nearly an hour of listening to piano music and being transferred from one person to another, was finally told that the customer service rep who gave me the UK number had given me the number that was not toll free. They said that there was no way that I could be reimbursed for this phone call. I have written documentation of all of this however the last person I spoke to refused to give me the name and address of a corporate official who could address my complaint. This whole thing has been handled ineptly and I want to write to someone in authority at AVG. Does anyone know to whom I can address my correspondence and attachments?
