I see that you seem to use a "bash" application for command line.
I request you to use the Terminal.app (default Mac OS tool for "command line").
Please use the Mac OS tool for command and let us know the status of it.

We appreciate your patience in this matter.
The recommendation provided by our development is to run:
- Open terminal and run “kextstat | grep com.avg”. List of records will be displayed.
- For every record from previous step us the "sudo kextunload -b [RECORD NAME]" command
- Once all records from 1st step are removed, installation/update should be successful.
And remove below mentioned folders from terminal and as a root:
- /Library/Application Support/AVGAntivirus
- /Library/Application Support/com.avg.Antivirus

It is all been deleted. There are no remaining AVG files on my computer. However, the installation error still persists.

I am trying to install the free version of AVG on my iMac. However, it states that AVG is already installed and I need to uninstall the previous version to install. Upon, looking through applications and elsewhere, there appears to be no AVG installation on my iMac. I am confused. Can someone kindly help me out here?

Pursotam, To take a screenshot in MAC, please follow the below instructions : 1. To capture the entire screen, press Command-Shift-3. The screen shot will be automatically saved as a PNG file on your desktop with the filename starting with “Picture” followed by a number, example Picture 1, Picture 2, and so on.
2. To copy the entire screen, press Command-Control-Shift-3. The screen shot will be placed on your clipboard for you to paste into another program like PowerPoint, Word, Photoshop, etc.
