Kate, we would like to inform you that Avast has been acquired by AVG. That's why you could see Avast files (app9990.tmp-shm) when you are using the AVG program.

I have quite a few files on my computer that relate to Avast, the most recent to appear being in AppData/Local/Temp (Win 7 64 bit) where two files are created each boot up, i.e. app****.tmp-shm. I have had to create a .bat file to delete these files as they keep mounting up every day. I do not have, nor have I ever used, Avast, so why are the .tmp-shm files being created, as well as all the others?
