Hello David,
Sorry to hear that. Please try to disable AVG Free program from the System Tray and check the Sandboxie software is working or not.
As a small part of my computer's security, I am using AVG AntiVirus Free (Basic Protection). A couple of days ago, as a part of my daily barrage of “buy this,” “upgrade that” ADS (part of what I am trying to escape with my security software) from my security software providers (AVG, this includes you – VERY tiresome), I received a message from AVG to install an update (17.4.3014) requiring a restart. In a fit of stupidity (hung over), I installed it and I must say I AM NOT AMUSED.
Apart from the fact that the new version had an entirely new look (I liked the prior layout MUCH better) and required a lot of configuration to make it function like I want, my Sandboxie software stopped working immediately after the reboot. (Am I 100% sure that the AVG “upgrade” caused this? No, but I am mad enough to blame it on it. Too coincidental to be anything else, I’m thinking.)
Sandboxie is the heart of my security system (unlike AVG, Sandboxie lets NOTHING thru) and if I have to chose between Sandboxie and AVG – I choose Sandboxie hands down. (When Sandboxie is running, AVG NEVER finds anyhing on my machine. Free Antivirus software is a dime a dozen - AVG should not forget that in it's zeal to be everything for everybody.)
Before I blow off AVG (and your ads) entirely (and forever) anybody got any ideas?
