Hi Alan,
What is current status, were you able to solve it or do you still need our assistance?
Thanks
Seamonkey 2.30 and 2.31 - Windows
AVG 2015.0.557 (Free version)
Windows 8.1
When Seamonkey attempts to phone home to do an auto-update of its application, AVG sees this as an unknown virus threat and stops the action.
You have to make an exception in AVG for "seamonkey.exe" to get by the seizure by AVG.
This is not a good way to get around this.
Problem is reproduce-able.
This only happens when SeaMonkey is set for auto-updates and the update download is initiated while SeaMokey is idling on the system. AVG sees this download as a threat and stops it, and pops up a warning screen.
Interesting that I have never had this problem when SeaMonkey was set for manual updates and I initiated them manually.
Moz and AVG need to get together on this, please.
PS - Mozilla Support sent me to AVG, so both sides hopefully are aware now?
