AVG and upgrading to windows10

Please accept our apologies for any confusion, David. Let us attempt to clarify this for you.
Initially, reinstalling or upgrading/downgrading the operating system will remove the applications installed on it & we may need to reinstall/reactivate.
As there is a possibility for a conflict of AVG & Windows update, we've suggested you to remove AVG prior attempting to upgrade. Hence, you may need to uninstall AVG & then proceed with the upgrade process.
Regarding license management, the program can be re-activated at both the instances (b & c) without any issues.
Hope this clarifies your query. If you require any further assistance, feel free to write back to us.

Hi David,

We'll be glad to help in upgrading your PC to Windows 10.

Yes, there is an option to temporarily disable AVG. However, there are some old traces which conflicts with upgrading to Windows 10.

I have sent an email to connect to our remote experts. They will remove the traces and upgrade your PC.

Please check the email and follow the steps as instructed.

I have had an AVG Internet security license for years, kept renewing.  Next due in Dec 2020.  The version detail running is version 19.8.3108 build 19.8.4793.541, the virus definition is 191127-0, last updated early 28 Nov 2019 AEST.
The current windows platform is windows 7, and I'm planning an upgrade to windows 10 soon.  The MS guidance on the upgrade process is to un-install things like security software that would impede the windows upgrade, and re-install afterwards.
I want to do an in-place upgrade, particularly to avoid having to re-install a bucket-load of software.  And it's been some years since I last got the AVG program to install.  So, I'm not sure I can find the exe file to re-install it, and then there's the virus definitions etc to replace . . .
Is there a way top just turn off AVG for a few hours whilst the windows upgrade occurs, and turn it back on again when that's done?  If so, will that last thru the PC re-starts that an upgrade apparently  has?

If you have updated your PC to latest version of Windows 10, you need not uninstall AVG and its traces.

Please share us the screenshot of the message that conflicts with AVG to check further.
