Please download and run AVG Clear and Remover tools as described in this article .
Then search your hard disk for files 'avgui.exe' or 'avastui.exe' to delete if found, restart your PC. Try the windows update and let us know the status here.
The Windows 10 update 1809 x64 2019-08C is not able to install because it says there is an error with AVG. It directs me to aka.ms.avg18_3win10 which says to make sure my AVG is updated. I confirmed via settings in the app that both the program and virus definitions are the most recent. Tried again to install the Windows update and got the same error message - so what is the problem with AVG and how can I get this resolved? Thank you.
I ran both AVG Clear and Remover tools. Restarted when instructed to. I searched the hard drive and deleted the avgui.exe files that it found (multiple). No avastui.exe were found. I emptied the recycle bin of the deleted files. The update still fails. Now what?
