AVG anti virus free and AVG watchdog

Hello Tony,
Thank you for contacting us with your concerns and sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. Please try to run repair installation ( avgclick.me/RepairAVG ) of your AVG.

Sorry but I have tried that already. I have also tried

Using TASKKILL at the command prompt
Using Revo Uninstaller
Task manager

None of these work, the process is there in s "stopping" mode but none of these aplications can see it, they just say it is not there! However it is still using 30% of my CPU

I recently ran a scan with AVG virus free but it ended up in a loop and would not complete. I then attempted to uninstall and then reinstall  but I ended up with a situation where AVG watchdog is in "stopping" mode and is taking 30% of my cpu capacity but cannot actually be stopped or uninstalled. I have tried a number of options but nothing has worked so far.

I am running 64 bit windows 10 on an HP laptop. I have never had this problem before!

Hello Tony,
We are sorry to know that the issue persists. In this case, we suggest you to download and run the AVG remover tool http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
Note: Once the removal of AVG is complete, go to C Drive and delete the AVG remover folder. After which you can install AVG.
Thank you.

Hello Tony,
Thank you for the screenshot. Please click on "Run Anywany". And let the AVG program complete its remover of remaining of traces of files and services from your computer. After the restart, please check if you still see the AVG Wachdog service running.
Thank you.
The problem is that AVG watchdog in hogging all that CPU will mean slow start up and will also slow down other processes such as virus scans. Are you saying that there is no way to kill this process or remove it from my computer?
