I am running an HPz400 Work Station with XP-64 installed. When I install AVG Anti-Virus and then the license number, it tells me that the license number is good yet the message is that "there are no active components" when opened. Indeed, nothing works. I tried reinstlling the license number, The system again acknowledged that the license number was good. Still it didn't work. I did a repair and reboot. Then the system loads XP up to the login screen, then reboots or tells me that I have had a hardware failure and to call the manufacturer. If I hit F8 on reboot and tell it to use the last known good configuration, the system comes back alive but when I open AVG 2015, I still get the message that "there are no active components". Has anyone tested this software on an XP-64 system in recent years? If so, what am I doing wrong?
