AVG Antivirus blocking HTTPS on TCP port 53

As initially stated, I do not have AVG Internet Security, I have AVG AV.

Disabling Web Shield does allow access.
What do I need to change within Web Shield to allow this access without permananetly disabling Web Shield ?

The connection just times out.

When I disable Web Shield, then I connect as expected.
If I change the connection port to something other than 53, such as 54 or 443 or 4443, then all works OK with Web Shield enabled.

Not surprisingly, Avast has the same issue.
I tried disabling the Web Shield options but I was unable find one that allowed access.

I have removed AVG and replaced it with a different brand of AV which does not have this issue.

This should be easily recreatable, should anyone at Avast/AVG have the interest.

The following does not work when AVG AV is enabled but works when AVG AV is disabled.
What setting do I need to modify to not block this access ?
I do not have the AVG firewall installed - just AV.
Windows 10 Home
AVG AV 18.6.3066

Thank you for the information.

Open Components window and select "Customize" next to "Web Shield" component and uncheck the option "Enable HTTPS scanning".

Check if that fix the issue.

Hello Bruce,

We will work together to sort this out.

Please disable each component of AVG one at a time and check which component is causing this issue.

To disable AVG components, open AVG Internet Security, click on "Menu->Settings->Components".

Check by disabling which AVG component allows the "https TCP port" on your computer.

I tried disabling ALL the Web Shield options including "Enable HTTPS scanning", but I was unable find one that allowed access.

Since I am now using a differerent AV product - consider this a closed case.
