I installed AVG Antivirus on my Moto X (2nd generation) a few weeks ago, but did not activate the app until August 9. About 7:30am on August 9 I ran the initial scan and it detected an issue: I had enabled the option to allow installation of 3rd-party apps. I hadn't installed any, but I had the option to do so, and AVG thought that was a problem. I did not "fix" it by disabling the option.
Two hours later, around 9:30am on August 9, I unlocked my phone for the first time since that episode and it froze. Then it shut down, rebooted, and hung on the first boot screen. It has been frozen ever since. I am unable to boot into safe mode and I cannot access system recovery in order to factory reset. I can enter the Android System Recovery environment via Fastboot, but I can't get the menu options to come up from that point. Instead, I get an error:
E:/ can't mount cache/recovery/lastlog
E:/ can't open cache/recovery/lastlog
Is this a known issue with AVG Antivirus for Android? Is there a known solution?
