AVG AntiVirus for Mac blocking Postbox and Airmail

Unfortunately this did not change anything (after a reboot).
The behaviour is exactly the same.

Kind regards,
Ralph

Hello Ralph,

I regret for the inconvenience caused.

Please let me know the version of AVG installed on your computer.

Have you reinstalled AVG and checked if you are able to access emails?

Hi Ralph,

Thanks for sending the config file, however it's content is different from what it should be. Could you please delete all the text from it and paste in what's below?

[mail]
LIMIT=1

[web]
ENABLED=1
FLAGS=1
IPV6=1
SCAN_SENSITIVITY="-pup"
SSL=1

Once config is updated, restart your Mac once again and let me know the status. Also check the file if new configuration stayed it.

If the issue persists, could you please disable "Mac shield" and "Web shield" (one by one) from the user interface to test which one, if any, is blocking communication?

Thanks

AVG AntiVirus for Mac 18.2 blocks access to my already configured mail accounts. On using Postbox, it does not connect to the IMAP server.

First I thought this is a problem of Postbox and reinstalled it, but now the account creation wizzard complains, that the password is wrong (double checked it).

With Airmail, the account wizzard does not work. For both clients everything is fine, when I disable scanning and web functions in AVG, so this is clearly a problem of AVG.

I did not use my Mac for a while and so do not know which version of AVG started causing problems.

Unfortunately this did not change anything (after a reboot).
The behaviour is exactly the same.

Kind regards,
Ralph
