You are most welcome Philip. Thank you for understanding. We will soon fix this issue. For time being please update the AVG program through offline method by following the below mentioned instructions:
1) Go to www.avg.com/update.
2) Select the update files you need (typically Virus definitions and All necessary modules for your operating system) and download them to a portable media, e.g. a USB flashdisk.
3) Open your AVG program.
4) In the menu Options, click Update from directory.
5) Navigate to the folder where you stored the update files, and click OK.
Hello Philip. No it is not the issue with your PC. We are having some issue in updating our program through online. Our experts are working on this and soon it will get fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Hi there, I have a few PC's on the same network and they are all running AVG AntiVirus Free 2015, but since about a week ago the one PC that is still running Windows XP Professional SP2 has not been able to be updated as usual. It keeps popping up message to the effect that it is not able to connect to the update server. I have always been running ZoneAlarm as my firewall client, and of course have all AVG components set as allowed. But to rule this out, I have tried shutting ZoneAlarm down completely, and even made sure that Windows Firewall was indeed still desabled. The failure to update persists. I then tried to reinstall AVG and used the repair option. No difference. I then downloaded a recent bulk update and manually ran that update by folder which worked, but still cannot update via the internet as normal. There is nothing wrong with that PC in terms of hardware, internet connection, and even the OS is running like a Swiss watch, so really not sure what could be the problem other than AVG itself in this case. Please advise.
Thanks.
Hello Phillip. Could you please let us know whether you have installed the Windows XP Service Pack (1 or 2) on your PC?
