In Settings -> Components -> Web Shield -> Customize -> Site Blocking
After you enable you can add an url, then if you want to add another you have to hit add then enter a url…rinse repeat. This ideally wouldn't be a problem if entering a site was only required when you encountered them and only a few at a time at most. However, over a span of many years, I have compiled a list of urls inside my hosts file:15,806 of them and counting. You might say I don't need to add them to AVG site blocking; but the hosts file isn't fool proof. I have been able to add them into other antivirus software for 100% effectiveness; which is what I am trying to do…
But, Please Please tell me there is a way to import en masse, or better yet just have AVG reference the hosts file.
Previous antivirus's/firewall's allowed importing a list, editting the file where the urls are stored. II tried online chat, but they directed me here. After doing a search, and skimming thru several pages of results. The one entry I found for web shield + site blocking was instructions for adding urls for the firewall… and sadly it only explained add url, then add another…rinse repeat.
I am hoping there is a way to import or edit, sorry for the verbosity of this post.
Thank you in advance
Hello, Michael.
We are sorry for the delay in responding. At the moment, AVG site blocking feature supports only adding individual URLs. You can try Windows Hosts file as described in this article https://goo.gl/MUp2nv.
Michael, Did you resolve your issue with AVG?.
