AVG AntiVirus Free keeps showing the "threat secured" notification whenever I use Google Chrome?

Hello, everyone. For the past couple of days, my AVG AntiVirus Free keeps showing the "threat secured" notification whenever I use Google Chrome. It doesn't happen on any particular website(s) on Google Chrome - it happens on most (if not all) websites I use. Whenever I go onto a website like Reddit, it tells me that it's secured the threat "transmapp.com". It has also informed me that it is a trojan virus [malware]. This pop-up only occurs whenever I use Google Chrome. I also have Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox on my laptop, but it doesn't show up on them.

Could my Google Chrome be completely infected with malware? Or could it be a glitch that only occurs whenever I use Google Chrome? Also, is it possible to turn off the "threat secured" notifications?

I am so sick and tired of the same answer that AVG gives to this same problem that I have and apparently so many other users!
AVG requests a screen shot from the inquirer and then "crickets!" No feedback to the problem for those of us searching for a solution on the support page.
I have this problem on the paid version in 2 PCs in 2 separate locations. I spent over 1.5 hours with an "advanced tech support person. I received no straight answers except the cause was not the AVG software.
Apparently, with the number of others experiencing the same malware threat it must be the AVG software.
Is it time to remove AVG?
