Why does my program already say that my protection is up-to-date? Is the pop-up a means of encouraging users to buy the paid version or does something actually get updated by using this pop-up? If so, why can't I do the update from within the program please?

Yes, it is genuine popup.

Hi Annie,
Program say it is updated because there is not new update available till you perform update from popup. Unfortunately some updates require running setup again so they are distributed this way.

I have a popup saying 'AVG AntiVirus FREE needs to be updated, Automatically update for improved protection'. I'm not sure whether it's genuine as I already have 2015 and when I opened the program on my PC it told me 'Protection is up-to-date'.

Is this a genuine popup? I'd upload a screenshot but I don't know how to do it.
