AVG AntiVirus FREE not working properly

Hello Casey,
I certainly will help you to install the free version of AVG Antivirus. You might have chosen 30 day free trial while installing and it has expired now. Please uninstall it as suggested in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG .
Then download and install AVG Antivirus free as suggested in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free .

I downloaded AVG Antivirus FREE but when I click to open the program, a window pops up that says "Your Internet Security trial has expired" and tells me to 'buy now' but I don't want to buy anything. I just want Free protection/antivirus. Can anyone lend a hand?

Hi Avinash,

I appreciate the help but ran into a problem. I downloaded the AVG Remover from the first link you provided but the Remover didn't actual remove the AVG Anitvirus program that I have and now, I have an error message. Error Code: 0xe0010002. And am unable to remove the Antivirus program manually.

Thanks for trying. I would request you to uninstall AVG from the control panel - program list. If the uninstallation fails, please reboot your computer in safe mode with network http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-reboot-your-computer-into-Safe-Mode and run both AVG remover & AVG clear tool mentioned in this article https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product.

Once uninstalled, reboot your computer in normal mode and install AVG Free using offline installer link https://www.avg.com/en-us/download.prd-gsr-free. 
Note: Before starting the installation, please select "Basic protection" to install AVG Free.
