Hello Lee,

I understand your concern. Please open the AVG AntiVirus free installed in your computer and click on Settings icon next to "Scan Computer". From the new AVG window, click on "Computer Scan" and check how long this scan takes to complete.

In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG Free Antivirus 2017. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version. Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool. After computer reboot, please follow the instruction (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free) to download/install AVG Free Antivirus.

Ive done that, it said AVG had successfully been repaired, tried it again and it was the same out come, under a minute to do the scan, a deep scan takes to long cos i tried that months ago when first tried AVG and it took well over a hour to finish a scan, my Dad as AVG Antivirus Free too on his laptop and he just opens AVG and clicks on scan computer and it does a full scan and takes about 30-40 minutes, dont know what else to try to be honest, i need a Anitivirus that performs a full scan and is quickish, but my AVG thats installed doesnt do that, it does it under a minute and scans to quick.

Hi all, I installed AVG Antivirus Free yesterday, I have windows 10 and when I click on scan computer it only takes a few minutes to scan, I've had Avast for a few months and had problems with it so had to uninstall it, I remember it taking 30-40 minutes to do a full scan with AVG last time I had it, whys it only taking a few minutes and what am I doing wrong?

And i cant do a reapir as that comes up as repair failed sorry we ran into a problem during initialization 0xA001F90D: Execute operation partially failed, i sick of this, on my Birthday as well.

Yeah well ive tried that, tried AVG Remover and it said theres no avg products on my laptop dispite having avg antivirus free, so i clicked on run anyways, after doing restart as it said i little white box appeared saying it had failed and now when i go into programs to uninstall AVG it says unexpected error, error code 0xe0010002, i cant believe this now i cant uninstall the thing.

AVG Clear as removed it, do i now perform AVG remover for stuff left behind or will AVG Clear have done all that after my restart?

Yes thats the one im talking about, i clicked on it dead on 5.38pm and it finished just before it got to 5.39pm, it does say scan your entire computer for hidden threats underneath "Scan Computer" but based on that speed i doubt that.
