Starting in October 2016, my AVG AntiVirus Free v16.131.7924 will not stop the scheduled scan - it never finishes, the Pause & Scan buttons don't work, nor will it go beyond 1%, Objects Scanned = 290, Threats Found = 0, and Currently Scanning = Rootkits. I've already tried both the repair, and the reinstall 5 times each with no luck.
OS = Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Processor = Intel Core i5-3570K @3.40 GHz
RAM = 8 GB

We are sorry to know that the scan stopped working. This issue is caused due to an recent conflict with Windows Update. This issue will get permanently fixed with next Windows update. Temporarily, to fix this issue, we suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Visual c++ redistributable file from your computer.
