MAC scan perform a comprehensive scan of your Mac. This scan detects malware, spyware, viruses & it is periodic scan.
As this isn't the usual behavior, we'd suggest you to restart your MAC once & check (if you've not restarted).

Just downloaded free AVG AntiVirus for Mac & I'm a bit confused. The Mac Scan screen is currently open on my Mac & it appears to be running over & over again. I don't know if that's how it's supposed to work or if it's supposed to be a periodic scan. Does it continually run in the background? If so, how do I hide/close the Mac Scan screen on my Mac or is it supposed to always be there? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
