Mrs N J, Have you previously used or do you currently use any other 3rd party anti-virus on your system?.

I am using Windows 7. I have downloaded the free AVG antivirus and attempted to install it. Every time I do I get the same error message: Oxe0010058. I have downloaded and used the removal tool and then deleted it. I have removed every trace of AVG in my Registry and elsewhere on my PC. I still get the same message. HELP!!! Any ideas?

We request you to open the RUN command and type as "ncpa.cpl" without the quotes and press Enter. You will get the window opened up only if you enter ncpa.cpl without the quotes. Once you get the window with the active network connection please follow the instructions provided by Aravindh and then try installing AVG Antivirus free using this link: http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-antivirus-free .
Dear Aravindh: II THINK I followed your instructions - but I am not terribly computer literate - and did as you suggest. But still no luck. Same error message. I my have to give AVG up. No point in even buying the full version if the free one will not install!
