Hello Wanda,

I am sorry to hear that the AVG AntiVirus free shows as trial expired and unable to use the free version. Please uninstall by following the below steps and then reinstall AVG AntiVirus free.

Download and run AVG Clear tool: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe. This tool will help with removing antivirus component of AVG 2017 and its traces.

Open tool
User Account control - click "Yes"
Windows safe mode - click "No" (we cannot recommend use the tool in safe mode, because there is a problem with compability)
Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security)
Click "Uninstall"
Click "Restart computer"

I tried the AVG Internet Security but didn't purchase.  I did download the AVG Antivirus free.  When I try to do updates or a scan it pops up with my Internet Security has expired and it won't let me do the free antivirus. I uninstalled the AVG Antivirus and then reinstalled but still will not work.

After restart, run AVG Remover and remove all other supported products and remnants of AVG (ZEN, Framework,…).

Open AVG_Remover.exe (http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe)
User Account control - click "Yes"
Click "CONTINUE"
Select all products, and click "Remove"
Click "Restart" and restart PC
If is displayed dialog window (Open file – Security Warning) after restart, click "Run" and let AVG Remover remove traces
If is AVG Remover asking for restart PC, restart PC again

Note: Once the removal of AVG is complete, go to C Drive and delete the AVG remover folder. After which you can install AVG AntiVirus free http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.
