OK Guys, this hasn't fully worked. It will turn off the pc after I manually start a scan. It will also turn off the pc after I manually start my scheduled scan. It does not turn off the pc after a scheduled scan is started on schedule (which is the main thing I would like it to do).
I am not the sort of person who likes to sit infront of a computer for hours trying to fix faults. If it doesn't work then that's it, so thanks for your advice. I'll go on with using the part of the software that does work in order to maintain virus protection, and (as so often with any software) I'll just put up or not use the bits with the faults.
Hi Colin,
We will certainly look into this and help you.
Please repair AVG AntiVirus, manually restart computer once and check with the scan.

Hi
Logged on to have what I hope is a simple question resolved:
I have ticked the check-box so that my pc (Windows 7) will turn off after a scan, but it doesn't turn off. Is this a known issue, and how can I get it to do what it's supposed to? It used to a couple of years ago, but hasn't done since an AVG update a while back.
I have uninstalled and re-downloaded AV Free but still have the same issue.
Thanks
Colin
We're glad to hear that, Colin.

Hi Bharath,
Thank you for your advice. I tried it and it's worked ok today (twice - I did it again to make sure!).
Thanks again
Colin
