AVG Antivirus icon no longer appearing in Taskbar Startup

Hello Mark,
Please check whether you could find the AVG program on the list of installed program on your control panel. If so please try to pin the AVG icon from the start menu. If not we would request you to run AVG remover tool to completely remove AVG and then re install it.
Please click this link http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe to download and run the AVG Remover tool.
1. Please select the AVG products which are shown in the remover tool window and then start removal process.
2. After the remover tool process is successfully finished, restart your computer.
3. After the restart,  manually delete the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of My computer.

Hi Folks,
Sorry to be getting back to you so late, but I had a power hiccup while "playing" with AVG uninstall/reinstall and had to run the Windows 10 restore. This, of course, meant reinstalling some other vital apps and drivers… hence my tardiness in replying<VBG>!
Anywho, I finally did the reinstall (after also having to find/cleanout some stray AVG files left by the crash) and all is back as it should be.
Again, many thanks for your help…
Mark

Hello All,
After having upgraded to Windows 10 I am no longer seeing the AVG Antivirus icon in the Taskbar Startup Apps section. It DOES appear after having opened it with a normal desktop link and is functioning normally when right clicked on to activate tasks list items in the Startup Taskbar (right hand-next to the time and date) section.
I use an old App called "Startup Cop" to view my Startup Apps on a regular basis and the 2 entries there are still there.
I am concerned not about having to actually manually activate it, but did REALLY enjoy the fact that it would auto-check/install for updates at startup. Could I have somehow missed an update to the AVG App itself? I most definitely perform update searches SEVERAL times a day.
Is this a Windows 10 anomaly, or is there a fix in the works afoot there at AVG? I've been using AVG since it first came on the market and have NEVER had an attack without being warned. Needless to say I always recommend AVG products to friends and acquaintances!
Many thanks in advance for your help- and an extra "helping' of thanks to the whole AVG staff…    Mark
