I have the same problem. Ran the removal tool and rebooted, but I still receive the error that it's installed.

I'm getting the following error when I try to install AVG Antivirus:

"Norton Internet Security security software is already installed on your machine. AVG AntiVirus cannot be installed as it may not be compatible with your Norton Internet Security security software."

I have just uninstalled Norton and run their "RemoveNortonMacFiles" tool (https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/norton-security/current/solutions/kb20080427024142EN) multiple times with restarts afterwards and still get the above error message. Norton support tells that the tool removes all files and they cannot do anything else.
