I am also having this very same issue. Exact same popup. About to uninstall AVG and find something else if this doesn't stop.

Same here. Very annoying, but nothing to pull my remaining hair about: just bring up task manager (Ctrl-Shift-Escape) and kill the application (until next boot, I guess). The popup dissapears and the avg process seems to be unaffected.

When the box comes up press <ALT>+<F4> and the box disappears.

If this is not adressed soon I will be switching to another free antivirus. AVG is not the only one.

Hello John,
Thank you for contacting us. Could you please share a screenshot ( http://avgclick.me/createascreenshot ) of the pop up you are receiving?

I have started getting the following popup from my AVG antivirus free version 1.521.51612 (setup vrsion):

"Check for potential security improvements."  "Check now".

When I click on the link "Check now" nothing happens.  I can't even close the popup.

I have been using AVG for years and never have got this popup.
