I am currently on Mac OSX Big Sur and have the AVG security package installed.
I am experiencing a very lengthy slow down when trying to run any app. This has been going on for some time, but i finally traced it to the AVG system, I will update to Sonoma this week but I want to resolve this issue so I don't have it when I migrate.
Today, I stopped (via the AVG app) the file and web sections and the problem went away. Excell loaded immediately as well as a larger program like Matlab. I then turned them back on and the time it took to load Excel was over 30 seconds (maybe more, I had a nature pause).
Does anyone else have this problem and if so what can I do.
BTW, before the test today, I completely ininstalled AVG and then reinstalled the latest version for Mac from their site.
