AVG Antivirus stops completely midway through a deep scan

Hi, after downloading AVG Antivirus. I did a “Deep Scan” but it stops on 25% progress on the file C:\Windows\WMSYSPR9.prx.

So I used the application’s repair tool. It did move past the file this time, but stopped on the next file C:\Windows\System. I have since re-downloaded the software, but again has stopped on the former file.

Any ideas why this may be happening? I am running the free version of the product, but a strange limitation if that’s the reason?
