We could see that you have an older version of AVG Internet Security. You wont get  the latest updates in the older version.

Please uninstall the older version of the program from the control panel and install the new version.

You cannot update the virus definition through offline mode in the new version.

We are unable to locate your account with the current email address.

AVG free (version 2016.0.7294) is already installed on the PC. I'm trying to update the virus definitions.

Is your website | AVG, no longer correct?
It says that versions 2014 and below are no longer supported, which implies that versions 2015 and above are still supported.

Which versions of AVG free are still supported?

Website | AVG indicates that you CAN update the virus definitions offline, and I followed its instructions to download the offline file for AVG free. Is that website no longer correct?

I am getting this message when trying to do an offline virus definitions update.

I bought a second hand PC recently with Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit, and it has AVG antivirus free version 2016.0.7294 installed, but the virus definitions hadn't been updated for a long time. I haven't set up the PC to connect to the internet yet, so I downloaded the avgupd.exe update file on my other PC for an offline update, and tried to run it on the new PC, resulting in the error message.

I saw that some one else had the same problem in November 2018 (AVG Antivirus was not detected to be installed on this ma... | AVG), and your advice to him was that the version of AVG he was using was too old. However | AVG indicated that support for versions 2014 and below has been dropped, so I assumed version 2016 would still be supported. Is that not true?
