Okay, finally AVG Antivirus has been installed.
Whatever caused the problem, and I suppose there could be a few causes, from turning off PC during an uninstall or whatever, or mixing up different AVG Antivirus versions and not sticking to one version, when installing and uninstalling, eventually the problem seems to have been nothing other than a registry error.
All I know is that removal of a registry key associated with AvgAMPS took place for sure and maybe that was critical. Possibly some other registry changes, but for sure registry changes fixed the issue.
At any rate, now I run AVG tuneup, I can get a state of zero registry errors. So, thanks to the oprator for fixing things.
AVG are obliged to offer support for it's free products. AVG: Tell me that is not so.
I'm running Windows 10.
Hi. I only have installed on my PC, at this moment, AVG PC Tuneup and AVG Zen. No AVG Antivirus. Previously to my current situation, I only had AVG Antivirus 2015/2016 installed.
Because of complications, in order to remove my previous AVG Antivirus, I had to use a an AVG removal tool. So, I've already used:
* avg_remover_stf_x86_2015_5501 (To remove AVG 2015 I think)
* AVG_Remover (To remove AVG 2016??)
AND
* AVG_ResetAcess (To ensure adminstrative privaleges are set I think)
Of course, now AVG Zen is seeking to install AVG Antivirus. Nothing is solving the problem though. I have made an AVG Sysinfo file, made with AVG SysInfo. Maybe I shoiuld send that to someone. Because I think I'm stuck. What do I do next? Thanks.
Sure, Richard. Give it a try.
Thank you for the explanation and confirming that your issue got resolved. Please do reach us if you have any issues.
I think Windows Defender has automatically been deactivated. Well, I've never had a problem with Windows Defender in the past. However, I have just recently installed anti-malware software. And it's running when I try to install AVG. I should shut that down and try again.
Thank you for accepting our offer to get our additional support. This 0xC0070643 error code for the AVG installation is being analyzed by our technical team and soon they will find the fix and reason for this. Thank you.
