My AVG Antivirus Free dashboard shows in bold Red (!), 'You are not protected, computer protection is turned off'. Clicking "Fix Now" does nothing.
Under Basic Protection, blocks show green with checkmark for 'Computer Protected' and 'Web & Email'. I followed the resolve instructions, Uninstalled AVG AV Free, Re-Installed from site, and rebooted. The error is still there. I made sure there's no other antispyware programs on my PC. In My AVG, AVG Antivirus is Installed (as well as AVG PC Tuneup). Under My Subscription, I see that AVG Antivirus Free expired Sep 7, 2018. When I attempt to Renew subscription, the only option is to Upgrade to Internet Security. So, is the only option to upgrade to Internet Security for the fee to keep (and Protect my PC) AVG Antivirus Free? Thank you.

AVG Remover tool detects and removes only 2017 and earlier versions of AVG program. AVG Anti Virus free must be 2018 version which is the reason it was not detected. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to let us know.
Beverly, we ask customers to use AVG clear and remover tool to completely remove the AVG traces from their PC.
In case if they experience any difficulties in following the instructions we will offer them free remote support to help them in resolving the issue.
Vishnu, thank you for the instructions and the clear and removal tools to completely uninstall my AVG programs. I was able to reinstall then and all is fine now. Odd, when asked to select programs for removal only my AVG PC TuneUp was showing (not AVG AntiVirus Free, although it was installed but broke). Removing all traces of it solved the problem. Thank you!
