Do you get this message " finish the current installation " when you try to uninstall or update AVG program ?

I have this small window in the corner of my monitor that overlaps anything and doesn't go away no matter what I do. I have tried closing AVG, uninstalling it, restarting my pc, tried updating AVG and no matter what it is there. It has been on my screen for about a week now. When I try to uninstall or update, it just tells me to finish the current installation that has been going on for a week. I wouldn't think AVG would cause permanent effects to my computer.
