The link you provided does not work. Inspect the url when using the link, of course it can't work.
I managed to track down the document embedded in the link, named "Installing the Anti-spam component of AVG Internet Security 2017". The question above is for AVG Antivirus Free 2017. Please reread the question at top in the original post. Prior to the recent update, in both Free and Internet Security, paid or not, the ability to implement emal filtering was and is always available at
Email Protection/Email Scanner, Mail Filtering
and NOT in Anti-Spam.
Where is mail filtering in AV 2017?
Please also respond to the second part of my question in the original post.

The above are the questions to which I am seeking answers.

This is the worst support board I have seen, ever. It takes forever to log in with that stupid repeated google captcha, which repeatedly breaks when it claims it cannot reach google. Answers on this board are lost forever because search capabilities are poor, and attempting to scroll down the main boardd results in javascript loops the expand exponentially in scale and then consume more and more browser resources that ultimately break the browser (firefox in this instance.)
Hello A B,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. We have made a significant changes in the AVG 2017 version and it has enhanced features than AVG 2016 version. The email features settings has been interlinked with the email settings in the AVG Anti-Virus free 2017 version. You can find the AVG Email settings under : Zen -> Anti-Virus free -> Menu -> Settings -> Email protection -> Customize, you can change the settings of your email from there. AVG Anti-Spam is not included with the Free package. Not all the features from the old version are added in the new version, however our developers are working on it and the new features will be added in our upcoming updates. We really appreciate your patience. Please reconfigure your email settings as your AVG was updated to a new version. Let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you.
The menu path you provide,
Zen -> Anti-Virus free -> Menu -> Settings -> Email protection -> Customize
has limited options in AVG 2017.
Under Components/Email Protection/Customize, the available options are Behavior, SSL scanning, Actions, Packers, Sensitivity and Report file. None of these options offer the "Email Scanner\Mail Filtering" option in AVG 2016. Does this mean, as you state, email filtering is in fact not available, and "developers are working on it"? Email filtering is a critical security tool for removing unwanted and potentially dangerous attachments…
Hello AB,
We can understand your concern that you cannot find the email protection in your new AVG Antivirus Free 2017 version. Please check the Web/Email protection in your AVG Antivirus. Please refer this link http://bit.ly/2q8rTfh to view email component in your AVG settings.
Thank you.
AVG AntiVirus 2017 seems to be missing components that have been included in AV for a long time. This is bad, because I support customers that now have dysfunctional "updates" to AVG AV. In AVG AV 2017, where are the email protection options? I am looking for:
Email Protection/Email Scanner, Mail Filtering options - we MUST be able to delete email attachments of our choosing.
Email Protection/Email Scanner/Servers, POP3, SMTP, IMAP - we have many email clients configured to use the AVG proxy, and the auto update to AVG AV 2017 has caused email client failures.
