Abirami,
Read my post! I cannot get to the detailed configuration items -

"when I click on the AVG Settings & Support Menu icon, and go to Device Serttings, the screen gives me no access to any detailed settings e.g. Firewall etc."

Hello Mike,
I am sorry to hear this. Please follow below instructions and check if your scanner works fine:
Open AVG  -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> Change the network profiles from Public to Private and click OK to save changes.
Then Open AVG  -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize ->Profiles->System Rules->Enable the 'Allow windows file and printer sharing' and also enable the 'Allow remote desktop connections to this computer'. Then click OK to save changes.
If the issue persists, please share the screenshot of error you encounter with printer. We will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you.

A few weeks ago I bought and installed a new printer. Shortly after, my AVG (3-computer 2-year licence, due for renewal next January) updated automatically and prevented one of my devices seeing the printer.

After several hours of chat with AVG support, they remote-controlled my device and reinstalled AVG. This seemed to fix the problem.

Now the problem is back, the devicve reports the printer is offline when it isn't. If I disable AVG, the device reports the printer is Online. Furthermore, when I click on the AVG Settings & Support Menu icon, and go to Device Serttings, the screen gives me no access to any detailed settings e.g. Firewall etc.

Does anyone recognise this behaviour and have any suggestions. I am getting really disappointed with AVG.

Mike
