AVG blocking all browsers

Hi Mark,

This isn't the usual behavior of AVG program.
Sometimes, this might happen if the firewall is not modified to allow the browsers to access internet.
However, as you've stated that the issue persists even after disabling AVG, which is contradict to the above mentioned possibility.
In this regard, would you be so kind to ensure us that disabling AVG didn't help?
Regarding AVG Secure browser, it would get installed to your computer it if is not opted out during the installation (as you stated).

Hi guys,
Had all my browsers blocked from running ("The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)).
The browsers blocked are Firefox, Chrome and IE. On further exploring found I had a new AVG browser installed even though I had no recollection of deliberately installing it.
I presumed there was an AVG update somewhere along the line that I'd missed so I put 2 and 2 together and figured AVG might be blocking my other browsers since it was the last change to my system.
Disabling AVG did not fix the situation so I completely uninstalled it and flushed Registry with CCleaner.
Once AVG was off my system ALL browsers worked fine.
I re-installed AVG and missed the little check-box for the Secure Browser install.
Browsers no longer worked.
Unistalled AVG again and browers all worked fine.
Re-installed AVG and unflagged the secure browser install.
Browsers no longer worked.

Obviously my browsers worked without AVG onboard otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get download link for fresh AVG install.

I'm running Windows7 Pro and have a full Licence / Subscription for AVG Internet Security as it's a work computer.

Never had these problems with AVG in the past, that's why I chose the product over others many years ago, and have had the product installed with full subscription with the previous two companies I've worked for, as I've had either an IT Manager or Ops Manager role and have been in control of computer operations.

So what's going on, what do I need to unflag/flag or disable in AVG to get my browsers back as I'm currently using the browser on a notebook for internet as I cannot on my work workstation?

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Dinesh, I would love to know how you've come to this conclusion based on EVERYTHING pointing at an AVG issue so far.
All other applications are working fine whether AVG is instaled or not, the computer is a CAD workstation running Solidworks, AutoCAD, MS Office. All these applications are running fine as I said with or without AVG. I don't see any other issues with the workstation regarding registry as believe me, if it had issues, Solidworks would be the first to fall over. All dead entries in registry have been cleared.
As already stated in the first message, AVG update (auto update) was the last change to the system. There have been no other updates or service packs installed, I haven't even allowed any Windows 7 updates to install. No driver updates have been allowed either, the ONLY change has been the AVG update, and then the uninstall/re-install which I have done TWICE to prove a point. As stated, EVERYTHING is working fine without AVG, once AVG is installed, all browsers fail to execute (not just fail to load).
Cheers,
Mark

Hi Dinesh,
As already stated, disabling AVG did not allow browsers to execute, only full removal of AVG enabled browsers to work.
If it was a firewall issue, the program would not connect to the internet but would NOT put up the Windows error listed above either ("The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)"). It would simply not connect, it would still open the browser to a dead page.
I'm currently not even able to start a browser let alone connect to the internet.
The problem I'm guessing is something in the registry that the AVG executable is modifying.

cheers,
mark
