AVG blocking Apple Mail privacy protection on Mac OS Monterey

Hello Eli,

We're sorry to hear this.
We suggest you reinstall your AVG AntiVirus free and check for the issue status.
Please refer to this article for reinstallation.
Keep us posted.

I've version 2.0 installed (I did a fresh install with a new file downloaded from your website about 2 days ago).
I disabled 'Scan secure connections' on the core mail shields section as you requested, but it didn't help.
Only after I disabled the 'Scan secure connections' on the web shield tab as well did Mail start downloading images as usual.

Hi, I've been using AVG (free version) for some time now.
I just upgraded to Mac OS Monterey and it seems that there's a collision between AVG and Mail privacy protection.
When either web shield or email shield is turned on, Mail privacy protection is blocked causing Mail to not be able to load images.
Here's a link to an image showing Apple Mail's message:

We appreciate your effort, Eli.
We've escalated this case to our senior team to get further assistance.
We request your patience. Our senior team will reply to you further.

Thank you for taking your time in reporting this to us, Eli.
Please ensure that AVG 20.0 version is installed on your MAC (Open AVG program - Menu - About or Open AVG program - Menu - Settings - General).
If so, then please try disabling 'Scan secure connections' in Email shield & let us know the outcome (Open AVG program - Menu - Preferences - Core shields - Email shield).

Appreciate your efforts in working towards fixing the issue, Eli.
Initially, we'd like to clarify that Mail Privacy Protection helps protect your privacy by preventing email senders from learning information about your Mail activity. When you turn it on, it hides your IP address so senders can’t link it to your other online activity or determine your location. It also prevents senders from seeing if you’ve opened the email they sent you.
We're unable to access the dropbox link provided in your initial post. Would you be so kind to share us the screenshot here for better clarity?
Meanwhile, please check if "Load remote content in messages" is enabled in Mail > Preferences > Viewing.

As for Mail preferences, thw new Mail application in Monterey doesn't have this setting.
I couldn't find it anywhere else either.
What's happening, in my opinion, is that Apple added the same feature you described and it's now built into Mail and your service is colliding with Apples'.

Hi Nisha, I've already done that before writing this post

Hi Eli,

We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
We're aware of this issue and it has been reported to the developers. We are working hard to get this sorted as soon as possible.
The only workaround is turning the email shield off for now. We will do our best to get this sorted at the earliest.
Thank you.
