Hi Michael,
We would like to clarify that the PUP detection shown by AVG for CleanMyMac application is legitimate.
The reason is that they are marked as a deceptor by APPESTEEM. To know more about it, check this link.
We request you to reinstall CleanMyMac as you have already added it to File shield exception and check the status.
We are also asking customers who are writing to us regarding this concern to contact the CleanMyMac software developer, to have them address this disruption.
Thank you.
I attempted to open CleanMyMac today it was blocked from running by AVG reporting that AVG AntiVirus had "Safely blocked CleanMyMax X because it was infected with MacOS:PuAgent-AZ[PUP]". As CleanMyMac was an app purchased to declutter my iMac and is now being blocked, do I have to remove AVG AntiVirus from my iMac or is there a way to stop it blocking me from running the same app I've been using without a problem for so long? I've added details of the app to AVG - Preferences - Exceptions - File Shield without success. It would appear that AVG is doing more harm than good. Any suggestions please before I remove AVG, never to return?

I would like a refund and I will delete the app. I just paid for a subscription from you.
