Hi Karthikeyan,
Thank you for your response.
While at home, the PC from my wife was having the same issues with some gmail aconts. And she switched the AVG settings from private to public. And it solved the issue.
For mine and within the same internet provider I had to switch for the reverse and from public to private.
These facts make me think on a non consistent behaviour, and tomorrow I could face the same issues.
Besides, I can tell you I have about 30 email accounts, half gmail, half proprietary. The instability happens on some of the Gmail accounts only, and the affcted accounts vary on the day.
I'll cofess my licence is renewing within a few days, and my lack of confidence on something more robust could eventualy make me decide for another provider.
Thank you.
Hello Paulo,
I understand your concern. Please be informed that as you are connected to a public wifi for safety reasons the firewall settings must have changed to public automatically. This will provide you advanced security as there are more chances for you get hacked or infected when connected to a public wifi. If you wish to keep it the connection to private for all connections then open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->firewall->Customize->Network Profile->Uncheck the option "Enable automatic profile switching". This should fix the issue.
If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.
Hi, I have AVG internet security for almost 1 year, and had free accounts for years before.
It started to block some of the emails coming into Outlook.
If I changed location and internet provider it didn't perform the same way.
After a number of hours I detected AVG to be the cause.
Since then and as per your support instruction I run the AVG Repair. I also changed the Firewall settings from public to private. It solved the problem at home.
I'm now on a library where I had No issues…but it changed and it's now blocking some Outlook emails again.
Is there a definitive solution which works on all internet providers and does not bring me this instability ?
